Effects of snow cover change on taiga forest ecosystem
I conduct a snow manipulation experiment in Larch forest ecosystem located in Eastern Siberia (permafrost) to see how change in soil moisture and soil temperature affects larch phenology, leaf nitrogen, photosynthetic rate and water stress, which can help to understand how it will affect productivity

In my research, I do both field observation and lab work. I shovel snow in -45 C and take samples in +30 C in mosquito ridden forest. My special interest is the use of isotopes as proxy for plant response to the change of environmental factors.
